Mud Luscious and Puddle Wonderful

I know it's been a while since our last post.  But we are still up here, slogging through the last bit of winter!

In my family it has always been a tradition to go outside as soon as the snow melts and look for signs of spring.  We don't ask for much, just a few green sprouts, some puddles, anything that's not ice or snow!  So we made a family outing to go see what we could see.  Here's what we found.

These will be daffodils.
Eventually.

And these will be Jonquils.

This is what the ground is like, and the footwear required to get through it.

And as happy as we are to see green things, and we are very happy to see green things, no one seems as happy as Miss Olivia about the change in the weather.  Or maybe she's just happy that we are all outside together again.  But for her, this lovely 55 degree day is a beach day!

Yes, that's snow in the background.

Emmett and I weren't quite ready to join her in the pond, but we had a good time watching her and soaking up some rays.

We're still not sure how much Emmett enjoys the great outdoors, but at least he's not screaming!  I think he's pretty happy to get out of the house a little too.  He seems pretty sick of sitting in front of the woodstove.  Here's another pic of him enjoying his bear pants in on the porch.

Ok, that's all for now.  Hopefully TH will put up a funny video accompaniment to this post later today!
I'm sorry our posts have been so few and far between, but please stay tuned!  Or at least half tuned!

High Chair Fun

Since Emmett has honed his sitting skills we thought it was time to set up his high chair.  Here he's playing at the table (like a grown up) for the first time.
